OBJECTIVE

PLACE OF THE SWORD SIMULATION IN THE OPERATIONAL PREPARATION OF SCORPION

The Scorpion program aims to renew and modernize the Army's "In contact" combat capabilities around new platforms and a unique combat information system. The current development structure of Scorpion revolves around: Modernization of information systems that network all the combined arms battlegroups (GTIA); The first level of cooperative operations. Called Scorpion Combat Specialist Force (FECS), it brings together specialists responsible for supporting this army transformation effort.

Scorpion is above all an operational objective. Modernize and bring new combat capabilities to land forces: infovaluation, protection and collaborative combat, specific ammunition, shooting beyond direct sight, to defeat our adversaries. With these new abilities, the way of fighting will evolve. It is measured today in a significant way through the exploratory doctrinal experiments carried out by simulation by the Scorpion combat laboratory. Although indirectly linked to operational preparation, the contribution of simulation to reflections on the Scorpion exploratory doctrine must be underlined because it illustrates the absolute usefulness of simulation before and after the design of equipment.
